FAQs - Regarding Oxygen, U.K.:
Q: What is your role with Oxygen, U.K.?
A. We have been appointed by Oxygen 8 Ltd., U.K. as Overseas Managing Agency to deal with all enquiries and correspondence with the their other agencies and suppliers from outside the UK. We are dealing with almost 250 Overseas Agencies of Oxygen, from all over the world, excuding U.K.
Q: Do you guarantee a job(contract or permanent) and a work permit, after payment of GBP 250 and entering into the commitment bond? A. We cannot guarantee success for the candidates, as ultimately it comes down to how they present themselves to the end client. But, we can prepare them and submit them to vacancies in such a way that gives them a far higher likelihood of placement than if they were trying to do it themselves from overseas. Oxygen is well known in the UK IT recruitment industry and we are a trusted and relied upon source of alternative labour supply to many large agencies and end users in this country.
Q: How long will it take to find one?
A. It is hard to quantify exactly how long it will take to find you an assignment. Once a project has been secured it takes up to 4 weeks for the work permit to be issued. On average it takes about 12-24 weeks to locate and secure a contract. However in the current market climate it may take from 3-6 months minimum. The IT recruitment market was tougher in 2001 and candidates are now having to demonstrate excellent technical ability and impress clients at a higher level. The market will pick up again in the months ahead but in the meantime we expect that it will take longer to achieve interviews, however, there is no expiry date with our marketing and so you can be sure that we will be positive and consistent in our efforts to help you develop your UK career.
Q: If you cannot find a job, is the 250 pound refundable? If refundable, within how much max. period will you refund the GBP250?
A. No. The commitment bond is refundable only once you have arrived in the UK to take up your new position with Oxygen. The bond is also refundable if for any reason we are unable to obtain a Work Permit for you. Please note that it is NOT refundable if Oxygen cannot find you a job.
Q: I am already in U.K. on work permit. Can you find a job for me? If so what process will I have to follow?
A. Yes but the process is the same as it would be for a candidate who is overseas. The work permit will not be valid if they are no longer working for the company who applied for it originally, therefore we would need to apply for a new permit.
Q: Is it possible to enter into Commitment Bond only after attending / scheduling the first interview?
A. Unfortunately I am not allowed to market any candidates CV if they have not paid a bond. This is company policy. To explain further, the reason we have a bond commitment is that from all the people that contact us only about 50% actually commit to sending a bond. If we were to market the other 50% without receiving a bond, we could be working for nothing. That is why we are no longer prepared to put lots of time and effort into marketing someone who may never be serious about their commitment. We have had lots of promises from people who assure us that they will definitely come to the UK to work and we have found them jobs, only for them to refuse the position. The bond payment gives us assurance that you are serious and committed and is only refundable when a job is secured and the position taken up by the applicant, or if a work permit is refused (we have NEVER had one refused yet.)
Q: What is the time-frame for entire process?
A: 3 to 6 months, from the date of reciept of Commitment Bond.
Q: If I get a job, what portion of my salary will go to your company?
A: Our client is the employer and he will offer you 100% of your salary without any portion going to my company.
Q: How much tax will I have to pay?
A: As per U.K. rules, Tax varies between 25 to 33%.
Q: Who is the client?
A: The Client is Oxygen 8 Limited, U.K.
Q: Work permit will be for how many years?
A: It will be generally for 2 years
Q: What will be the avg. salary per month that i might get in hand after taxes and your payment?
A: A minimum of GBP 2,500 to GBP 3,000 per month, before tax deduction. Taxes work out to be 25% to 30%.
Q: Will i be able to survive with that anount of money?
A: You will be able to save approximately GBP 1,000 per month, after spending on basic aminities, if you are a bachelor.
Q: I would like to know if i will be placed before going to UK or i have to search for a job after i go there.
A: You will be employed, before leaving for U.K. itself.
Q: I am not interested to do the consulting work anymore. So I am strictly looking for permanent positions. Do you find a place for foreign workers in UK?
A: You can always opt for permanent positions with the client. Yes. U.K. invites and absorbs Indian professionals, provided if they have the work permit.
Q: Is it possible to attend interiew from here? what about flight charges & accommadation?
A: You can attend the interview from from anywhere (Telephonic Interviews). Accommadation has to be arranged by the individual. Flight Charges will depend on case to case.
Q: Any Hidden costs, apart from Amount towards Commitment Bond?
A: No Hidden Costs. You need to pay the commitment bond amount of GBP 250 only to the client. You need not have pay any other commissions or amounts to us or to clients, either directly or indirectly.
